What are our duties towards our children?

Parents cooperate with the Creator in giving life to their children, and with this comes the grave responsibility of raising and educating them till they reach the fullness of manhood or womanhood. 

This is a task that they cannot shirk from, they must be available to them for as long as they are needed. What a grave misfortune it would be for parents to miss out on their once-in-a-lifetime chance of really helping their children develop into God-fearing responsible adults.
